Friday Craft, Happy Happy

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I took a new stamp set for a spin just in time for Mother’s Day. I believe this paper pad is from Die Cuts With a View, beautiful florals and a mixed media effect. I die cut tons of different sized flowers and petals, then mixed and matched them into flower combinations. I die cut several rectangles using a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle set and die cut the sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp stitched banner¬†set. The Happy Happy Happy stamp set matching dies cut out the Happy words. Once I had a good stash of components built up, I assembled 15 cards in a sitting.

Friday Craft, Galaxy Background

This is my first galaxy using Distress Inks. I watched a few tutorials on You Tube before giving it a try and it was quite easy. I used a blending tool to make patches of Worn Lipstick, Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feathers, and Seedless Preserves. The cardstock in the photo above is nothing special, just bargain stuff you can find in the office supply store.

Then I blended Faded Jeans and Black Soot on top and around the patches of color until I was happy with the look.

You can use droplets of water to create the faded patches, and splatters of white paint for stars. I’m really happy with this first effort. I’ve already made another and plan on doing a large one to use for a pop-up box card.

Stay tuned for cute astronaut action!

Friday Craft, Craft with a Vengance

Paper flowers made with 2″ circle punches. I picked up this technique from one of the many, many, many paper craft magazines I’ve collected over the years.

Someday I’ll show you what I do with my magazines after I’ve enjoyed paging through them. If I kept all the magazines I’ve purchased, well, we’d need a bigger house.
